R.C. Johansson writes character-driven fiction shaped by adventure, mystery, and the unexpected. His stories often begin with ordinary people whose lives are disrupted by something larger than themselves — a discovery, a disappearance, an impossible event, or a mystery that refuses to stay buried.

His fiction moves between genres and settings, from speculative adventure and supernatural mystery to stories set within established fictional worlds. Whatever the setting, the focus remains on characters, consequences, and what happens when familiar lives are pushed into unfamiliar territory.

How It Started

Johansson began writing seriously in 2025, although the beginnings of Tides of Consequence had existed for years before that.

The opening pages were there, along with the idea of something larger behind them, but the story itself never quite moved forward. Years passed, and the manuscript remained little more than a beginning.

Eventually, that changed.

What had once been difficult to imagine beyond those first pages began to take shape, and Tides of Consequence grew into a complete novel. More importantly, finishing the story opened the door to others.

A Love of Storytelling

Long before writing became a serious pursuit, Johansson spent a great deal of time with stories in other forms — television series, films, and video games.

Over time, that became more than simply enjoying them. He became increasingly interested in why certain characters worked, why some mysteries kept pulling an audience forward, how fictional worlds could feel alive, and why certain moments remained memorable long after a story ended.

Those influences naturally found their way into his own writing.

Rather than being tied to a single genre, Johansson is drawn to stories that combine strong characters with discovery, tension, mystery, and a sense that something larger may be waiting just beyond what the characters initially understand.

The Stories

Since completing his first major manuscript, Johansson has continued developing several different fictional worlds.

Echoes of Forgotten Empires explores adventure, mystery, and consequences reaching far beyond the lives of its characters. The Shift takes ordinary people and places them inside a world suddenly changed by the impossible. A Wicked Tide turns toward supernatural mystery in the coastal town of Grey Harbor, where disappearances, old secrets, and something hidden beneath the surface begin to collide.

Alongside his original fiction, Johansson also writes fanfiction, including Shadows Beneath the Lion, an unofficial World of Warcraft novel built around original characters living within Azeroth during the Vanilla era.

Still Writing

Writing began with a handful of pages that sat unfinished for years.

It has since become something much larger.

R.C. Johansson continues to revise existing manuscripts, develop new stories, and explore the characters and worlds that have grown from that first unfinished beginning.
