THE STORY
When a routine delivery fails to reach Stormwind, kitchen hand Duncan Stonebridge is sent to Redridge to find out why.
What begins as a simple errand leads to wrecked wagons, missing cargo, and details that do not fit the obvious explanations.
Far to the north, sin'dorei hunter Nalara Suncinder leaves Eversong Woods for a practical reason: to sell her work for a better price. Her journey south puts her in the path of a different trail of violence and unexplained activity.
Neither is looking for adventure. Neither understands what they have found. But their separate paths are moving toward the same city — and toward a threat taking shape beneath ordinary trade, travel, and war.
CHARACTERS
STORMWIND
A twenty-nine-year-old kitchen hand from Stormwind's Old Town and former blacksmith apprentice.
Duncan begins the story with no military career, no magical ability, and no expectation that an ordinary trip to Redridge will become anything more than an errand for work.
EVERSONG WOODS
A twenty-eight-year-old sin'dorei hunter, leatherworker, and independent gatherer from Eversong Woods.
Nalara leaves home to sell valuable hides and leather farther south. What begins as a practical trading journey gradually carries her far beyond the life she expected to return to.
